Most of the art in the "Fiddle Tune Art Prints" section below started out as line drawings dating back to the early 1980s. The line drawings were part of a coloring book, designed to help people to learn to play the dulcimer by ear.
The idea was to create a package that included a cassette tape of fiddle tunes played on the dulcimer, a book of line drawings with tab of the tunes on the tape plus a box of colored pens to color the drawings. The recommended method being to color the pictures while listening to the tape. By the time all the pictures were colored, there’s a good chance one would know the tunes. The tab would then be more a reference than a written in stone version of the tune. While this is a proven teaching style, it was not financially practical.
In 1985 the cassette only was released as "Mountain Views"and years later I colored the drawings myself and reproduced them as “Mountain Views” Fiddle Tune Art Prints.
